The main task of a visitor guidance system is to provide visitors with comprehensive and seamless information. The system is designed to guide people safely through the building. In the event of danger, all people in the building can be informed and guided safely through the building. People visiting the building for the first time should be able to find their way around easily. These systems are also available outside buildings, for example on motorways, public squares or in city centres.<\/p>\n

What does a visitor guidance system actually look like?<\/h2>\n

In times of digitalisation, there are display boards or monitors everywhere that are supplied with digital data and run electronically. It is therefore very easy to update them via the control centre. If a conference needs to be rebooked, this can be done on all monitors in the building or on the way to the conference room in question. Everyone in the building can see on the monitors which event is taking place in which room and at what time. This not only saves time, but also money. The necessary updates for this signposting system are also carried out via the software and are controlled centrally. If a screen fails, this is also displayed in the control centre and can therefore be replaced immediately or repaired promptly. Specifically, a power connection and a network connection are required near the display. The display sizes are as different as those of a normal PC. The display can be mounted on a wall or ceiling bracket. These can be rotated and tilted. These systems are controlled via radio, encrypted WLAN or Ethernet. In addition, visitor guidance systems often have digital or electronic door signs and digital or electronic signposts as well as information columns with a digital feed and user-friendly display with search functions or enquiry options.<\/p>\n

At events, there are a lot of people in a comparatively small area. The majority of people are in the building for the first time and don't know their way around very well. That's where this system comes into its own. The monitors can be used to guide people through the building. Areas can be blocked or opened. Announcements can also be made via the loudspeakers. In an emergency, all information on events disappears from the monitors and warnings and instructions on how to behave appear instead.<\/p>\n

Advantages of the visitor guidance system!<\/h2>\n

The system can be controlled centrally. The information is visible everywhere. Changes can be made quickly and efficiently. In an emergency, thousands of people are easily reachable, making this also a Preventive safety measure<\/a>. Event security can be organised efficiently and comprehensively. Cameras are often positioned at neuralgic points. Some systems can be combined with the visitor guidance system in an emergency. This ensures double protection for visitors and all people in the building in an emergency. This also includes tradesmen, employees, etc. As this is also a protective device, there is also an emergency power supply for it and parts of the system are connected to other circuits. This applies in particular to the telephone lines. At least one telephone must always have a separate circuit for emergencies. Radio systems maintain independence in an emergency. Walkie-talkies and radio are valuable alternatives even in the age of modern mobile phones and smartphones, iPhones, etc. Any system can always fail. Often the battery is always empty when it is urgently needed. A basic rule in operations centres is therefore: all in-house devices must always be charged and ready for use. These should also be checked regularly. Event security is extremely important. As hundreds or thousands of people are involved here. One false alarm and people die. Visitor guidance systems are therefore themselves subject to regular inspections and are based on norms, standards, laws and guidelines.
