Those who speak calmly, maintain distance, and refrain from threatening gestures create better conditions for a factual conversation. In this context, the choice of words, tone of voice, and body language should be consistent. Accusations, mocking remarks, or a reassuring address can further exacerbate the conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First, it is important to listen and understand the reason for the upset. A statement like \u201eI understand that you are upset about the wait time\u201c signals that the request has been received. At the same time, rules and boundaries remain in place. Threats, insults, or aggression must be clearly addressed without devaluing the other person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Short, understandable statements and concrete action options are helpful. For example, if a guest does not have access permission, the security guard can explain where the booking can be checked. This way, the person receives a comprehensible next step. Reacting to insults with counter-insults or engaging in a power struggle, on the other hand, increases the tension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The environment also plays a role: A discussion in front of an audience can increase the pressure on the participants. As far as the situation allows, a conversation in a quieter place can help. However, one must ensure one\u2019s own safety, sufficient distance, and the support of colleagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-was-passiert-wenn-deeskalation-nicht-ausreicht\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happens if de-escalation is not enough?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not every conflict can be resolved through conversation. If a situation threatens to escalate into violence, the protection of those present takes priority. Depending on the situation, this means calling for assistance, removing uninvolved parties from the danger zone, or alerting the police. In particular, when there is a firearm involved, distance, cover, and immediate communication with the police are crucial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fact that someone becomes violent or fails to comply with an order does not in itself justify physical violence. If there is a current unlawful attack, necessary and warranted self-defense or emergency assistance may be justified. Self-defense concerns the defense of one\u2019s own person, while emergency assistance concerns the protection of others. Which action is permissible depends on the specific situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Professional action therefore also means recognizing the limits of one\u2019s own capabilities and promptly seeking help. After an incident, careful documentation and joint follow-up discussions help improve processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-warum-sind-deeskalationstrainings-wichtig\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why are de-escalation training sessions important?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The handling of people and de-escalation techniques are among the topics covered in the IHK training and the professional qualification examination in the security industry. These include, among other things, behavior in dangerous situations as well as dealing with conflicts and stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For everyday use, it is useful to regularly deepen this knowledge in practice. In exercises, security forces can train on how to respond to provocations, communicate boundaries in a clear way, and coordinate with each other.
