When the annual inspection is due at TRV Thermische Rückstandsverwertung GmbH & Co. KG in Wesseling, Germany, the LyondellBasell site is in a state of emergency. Plants are at a standstill, hundreds of specialists are working simultaneously at different points - and this is precisely when the utmost attention is required. TRV has been relying on Paffen Wach- und Sicherheitsdienst GmbH for this demanding task for several years.

During shutdowns, we provide experienced security guards in accordance with DGUV R 113-004. We also perform manhole guarding, fire watch and crane guarding duties. Our employees are trained in accordance with DOC 16, our managers in accordance with DOC 17, and Paffen Wach- und Sicherheitsdienst GmbH is SCC**-certified.
Many of our safety personnel have been in the field for years and are very familiar with the processes and requirements of plant operation. Some have also been trained as gas warning analysts and carry out clearance measurements independently.
A plant shutdown means maximum concentration for everyone involved. Here, the physical safety of people depends directly on the attentive actions of our employees. Anyone who works as a security guard, fire watch or manhole guard bears responsibility - hour after hour, shift after shift.
Of course, such an assignment is also demanding on a human level: no mobile phones, no distractions, long periods in protective equipment and waiting for the next break in the secured area. This makes it all the more important to have reliable teams who know what is important - and who have each other's backs.
Our proximity to Wesseling is a real advantage. We can react flexibly and quickly to any changes, provide additional personnel and thus prevent downtimes from lasting longer than necessary. Time is money - especially when a plant is not producing.
We are also at the customer's side outside of major overhauls. If repairs or maintenance work are required at short notice, we provide trained security guards on call - without long lead times.
