Social Engagement
Social commitment is a matter of course for us. The following projects are particularly close to our hearts. We would like to briefly introduce them here in order to give the organisations some visibility. If you like, you can also support these organisations with a donation.
The association was founded in 2016. We are committed to improving the living conditions of abandoned, sick and tortured animals at home and abroad. Another of our goals is to teach future generations how to treat and care for animals in order to sensitise them to this and thus prevent animal suffering.
The Bonner Tafel tackles two problems at once: It combats food waste by saving good quality food from being destroyed at the end of the day, and it distributes food that is urgently needed elsewhere to people in need and charitable organisations. Every week, over 3,400 people in need are provided with raw vegetables, fruit and dairy products, as well as baked goods and other foodstuffs.
The local animal welfare organisation runs the Albert Schweitzer animal shelter and is dedicated to taking in, caring for and placing found and surrendered animals. The animal welfare organisation has been working to protect animals and pets in need since 1895. Currently 1500 members support the animal welfare organisation in Bonn.
In 1989, doctors and parents of children with heart disease founded the Kinderherzen association as the Fördergemeinschaft Deutsche Kinderherzzentren e.V. . The primary goal of the non-profit organisation is to significantly improve the chances of survival, treatment options and quality of life for children with congenital heart defects in Germany and worldwide.
The German Children's Hospice Foundation supports adolescents, children and young adults with a life-shortening illness. The organisation offers a forum in which affected families in similar circumstances can exchange information and network. The families are supported and their self-help is strengthened.
Maria im Walde, originally founded in 1847 as an orphanage, is a private, independent child and youth welfare organisation, a member of the Diocesan Caritas Association in Cologne and has a firm place in Bonn's youth welfare landscape. We support young people and their families in difficult life situations - we do this in a consistent and respectful manner.
