Manhole guard

The company Paffen has expanded its competences and offers the so-called manhole guard not only throughout Germany but also throughout Europe. A manhole guard is required when work is carried out in containers and confined spaces. This is often the case in power stations, shipbuilding or apparatus engineering. The manhole guard monitors, observes and remains in constant contact with the worker who is working in confined spaces. Our employees also check the safety measures and protective equipment of the worker in advance. The Paffen guard must also ensure that the area is cordoned off and the fire extinguishing and communication equipment is intact before the work starts. This post of manhole guard is immensely important, as it is a job with responsibility. The employees who take over the watch are trained by us and trained in the plants on site. Furthermore, our employees have the necessary medical check-ups and first aid courses. As we are not only active throughout Germany but also throughout Europe, our employees also have a good command of English.

An overview of the tasks of a manhole guard:

- Securing work in confined spaces and containers
- Checking all safety measures for PPE (personal protective equipment)
- Inspection and control of all fire extinguishing and communication equipment
- Control of employees with regard to the barrier and access ban
- Recognising dangerous situations and triggering alarms
- Initiate first aid measures immediately
